Robin Neumann – University of California, Berkeley

Competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, winning bronze at the European Championship that same year, a member of the Dutch national swim team since 2015 – it is safe to say that Dutch-national Robin Neumann has an impressive sports resume. With the help of GUTS, Robin found the her most suitable match, both in athletics and academics, to be the University of California, Berkeley. She made her NCAA Div. 1 swimming debut last September.

CALIFORNIA SUCCESS

  • Capped her senior season in 2017-18 by scoring in two individual events at the NCAA Championships, taking fifth in the 200 free (1:43.54) and 15th in the 100 free (48.40). Also led off Cal’s third-place 800 free relay
  • At the 2018 Pac-12 Championships, reached the A final of the 100 free (3rd, 48.09), 200 free (3rd, 1:43.64) and 500 free (8th, 4:40.92)
  • Also led off Cal’s winning 800 free relay with a 1:43.38 split, a time that puts her 10th in school history in the 200 free
  • Co-recipient of Cal’s Karen Moe Humphreys Coaches Award as a freshman
  • Named a CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2018

Together with Robin, nine other swimmers joined the 2017- 2018 roster for the Bears – some of whom have made it to the US Olympic Trials. Robin is the only Olympian in this new bunch. Teri McKeever, Olympic and California Golden Bears head-coach, praised the new group of swimmers. “They’re looking for that level of world-class academics and athletics. We have some women who can help us in the breaststroke and IM, in particular, and I think some people who have a great upside in their performances.”

Robin joins a swim team that has a long history of NCAA success. Since 1978, the Bears have won four national championships, 7 conference championships and have produced 35 individual and 14 relay champions.

Go Global Education Fair 2018 – September 22nd & 23rd

Unieke Go Global Education Fair 22 september (Hilversum) en 23 september (Amsterdam)
